THE SHAKESPEARES: SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE

pp poster.jpg

THE PATIENT PRISONER

Was William Shakespeare ever really in love? On 27 November 1582, he registered to marry Anne Whateley in Worcester. But the next day, he bought a license to marry Anne Hathaway in Stratford. So begins the story of Shakespeare’s tangled affections.... Did he mean to marry them both? Did he actually love them both? And who was the ‘dark lady’ of the sonnets? Passion, cross-dressing, and heartbreak abound in this (sort of!) new play as we take on one of literary history’s greatest mysteries: Will Shakespeare in love... and in love....and in love!

It’s now one hundred years since women were granted the vote.

The Patient Prisoner is a story of anarchy, militancy, and perseverance. Tackling the trials and tribulations of the Scottish suffrage movement and the efforts of suffragette Fanny Parker also known as Janet Arthur to bring about that change

Performed by an all-female cast and using live music, to tell the incredible true stories of gunpowder plots, hatchets, and hunger, in the quest for deeds not words.

We will march. We will starve. We will fight. We will have the vote.
